The world is destined to have 10 billion people in just a few years and food will be a serious issue since we're already over-exploiting both the land and the seas beyond the planetary carrying capacity.

Conventionally farmed vegetarian foods form part of the solution, but land is scarce and high quality nutrients such as proteins, fatty acids and minerals are paramount for health and well-being.

The solution lies under the blue horizon.

Blue Horizon BioMarine Innovations AB will, through its wholly owned Kenyan subsidiary, farm low-trophic* marine organisms of select genetic lines and develop and market high-value food, feed, fertilizer and supplements products based on these.

*Photosynthesizers and primary herbivores (seaweeds, bivalves, sea cucumbers).
